High pressure intercooler design and material

All our high pressure intercoolers are made from the aircraft grade aluminum, to withstand high boost pressure and durability:

This is the most critical feature.

The intercooler is constructed from aircraft-grade aluminium, which is lightweight yet exceptionally strong.

This material choice is essential for high pressure applications, ensuring the intercooler core and tanks won’t fail (rupture or balloon) when subjected to very high turbocharger boost pressures.

The coolers have billet end caps and bracing for maximum durability:

Billet end clamps means the tanks on the ends of the intercooler core are machined from a single, solid block of aluminum.

This process creates a much stronger, more uniform, and less porous part than a cast or welded tank, maximizing durability and resistance to high internal pressure.

Bracing further reinforces the structure against pressure and vibration.

Coolers are built from 1/4″ high grade aluminum

This likely refers to the thickness of the end tanks or the mounting points.

A .250″ thick  aluminum wall is very substantial, contributing significantly to the overall strength and longevity of the unit.

We use American made cores:

This is a quality assurance and sourcing statement.

The core (the finned section where heat exchange occurs) is the most critical and complex part of the intercooler.

Using American made cores typically implies a higher standard of construction, fin density, and performance efficiency compared to some foreign-sourced alternatives.
